Q. What types of fishing kayaks do you have?
A. We have 2021 Native Watercraft Titan Propel 10.5's and an Old Town Topwater 120 PDL.
Q. How are they rigged?
A. Each boat is rigged with the following:

- Pedal drive (instant forward and reverse)
- Paddle (although you will rarely need it)
- Personal Flotation Device (fishing style vest)

Q. What are the advantages of a pedal drive kayak?
A. With a pedal drive, you’ll be able to cut across larger bodies of quicker than traditional paddling. If you’ve spent any time kayak fishing, you know one of the most difficult tasks is managing the position of your kayak. With a pedal system, you’ll be able to maintain control with your legs and the occasional rudder adjustment. This also makes our pedal drive kayaks outstanding platforms for photographers as well!
Q. How stable are your boats?
A. The most noticeable things about our kayaks are the stability and maneuverability. With the propel drive and responsive rudder steering you have complete control over the boat and can position and move in any way you need. The boat is extremely stable and even standing in it is no problem at all.
Q: I want to come during the week, how do I arrange that?
A: MKO operates every day so we welcome (and encourage) week day excursions.
Q: What are the water conditions on St. Leonard Creek?
A: The water in the river can be choppy from time to time, however the water in St. Leonard Creek is typically flat and very enjoyable. Even if there is a stiff wind coming off of the bay, the creek is normally very pleasant and we can direct you to protected waters based on wind conditions.
Q: Where do I store my items?
A: We recommend you leave personal items locked in your car and keep your keys in a waterproof bag or a pocket of your PFD.
Q: Is pedaling a kayak physically strenuous?
A: Pedaling our pedal drive kayaks are very efficient. They are much less strenuous than paddling a kayak.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Whatever you’re comfortable in! However our recommendations are below.

- Wear non-cotton materials and avoid materials that may become heavy when wet.
- Be prepared for direct sunlight or a cool breeze.
- You must wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) at all times.
- Sunglasses.
- Remember sunscreen!
Q: Do I need to sign anything?
A: Yes. All participants must sign a waiver.
Q: What about poor Weather Conditions?
A: Your safety is our highest concern! We closely monitor weather as storms can kick up quickly. We keep track of the radar and will stop rentals when we feel that it will be unsafe on the water.
Q: Where Can I Park?
A: There is parking onsite at our location and instructions will be provided once you have booked your rental.
